    Instructor Chip Wienke Vernon Lyle Wienke III: Instructor Chip is a 5th Dan Black belt, usually called on to teach poomsae and self defense. Chip has studied Taekwondo since January of 1994, when, after researching various martial arts schools in the area, he decided that Taekwondo complimented the Juijitsu and Karate he had learned in junior high school. He is also a class C1 referee for USA Taekwondo. "One of the greatest things that Kim's Temple and now the US Taekwondo Academy has given me is a sense of home. I know that in the discipline and creativity of this art, I can always find my sense of focus and peace."​

    Instructor James Ryan Instructor James, 43, was born in 1973. Having been born into a military family, James spent the first two years of his life in Frankfurt Germany. Growing up, Instructor James was very athletic, he played football and ran track throughout high school. After attending college for one year on a football scholarship, where he also studied business and law, James “joined the real world.” It was not until 1994 that Instructor James joined the ranks of the U.S Taekwondo Academy. Falling in love with the sport and the lifestyle behind it, James quickly became engulfed with Taekwondo. At one point in time James even resided above the dojang with the Kim family. Under the instruction of Grandmaster Koang W. Kim, and with a very close relationship to Grandmaster Jon E. Kim, James was able to climb the ranks and absorb all the sport had to offer. Instructor James, in 1998, took time from Taekwondo to pursue other aspects of life, only to ultimately return in January of 2011. Since then Instructor James has been a crucial part of the U.S. Taekwondo Academy family.

    Instructor Tyler Northern Instructor Tyler, 26, was born in 1990 in Racine, Wisconsin. Tyler was raised and has spent the majority of his life in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Growing up, Tyler was always interested in martial arts. At the age of 14, Tyler received his first Black Belt in Jeet Kune Do. While in high school, Instructor Tyler attended Indian Trail Academy, and was a part of the Military and Business Academies. After graduating from high school, Tyler spent a brief stint in the U.S. Army followed by many factory jobs and a job working as a 1:1 aide with a child with autism. Currently, Instructor Tyler has an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice and is working for his Bachelors Degree in Business Management and Administration. Tyler also has a wife, two step-kids, and a daughter. It wasn’t until Instructor Tyler’s stepchildren got involved in the U.S Taekwondo Academy that his childhood interest peaked yet again. Once involved, Tyler could not get enough. Fascinated by the sport and the culture that comes with it, Instructor Tyler eagerly rose through the ranks of the Academy. Tyler plays a very important role at the USTKDA, and strives to stay a core member of the U.S. Taekwondo Academy family. Recently Instructor Tyler became internationally recognized as a 2nd Dan black belt through Kukkiwon.

    Dulce Cervantes (dulce@ustkda.com)
    Instructor Dulce Cervantes Instructor Dulce, 23, was born in 1994 in Zacatecas, Mexico. Dulce lived the first nine years of her life in Mexico before moving to the United States. Having experienced a complete culture shock, Dulce had to readjust every aspect of her life including the language in which she spoke. In the summer of 2007, Instructor Dulce decided it was time to stop driving by the U.S. Taekwondo Academy and walked through the doors of the school. With the love and support of her mother, along with her own internal drive, Dulce has worked her way through the ranks of the U.S. Taekwondo Academy. Currently, Instructor Dulce is working on a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education as well as settling into the new of mother to her newborn son. Dulce plays a very integral part within the U.S. Taekwondo Academy, and plans to continue growing as a woman through Taekwondo.

    Instructor Jennifer Grabot Instructor Jennifer Grabot, 44, has been a part of the USTKDA family since 2010. Miss Jen has a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from Eastern Illinois University and a Master's degree in Leadership and Administration, and has been a school band director for 22 years. She currently is the Director of Bands for Beach Park School District 3, and has traveled the country with her award-winning bands. Jennifer and her husband Terry have 3 kids - Jared, Sarah and Brendan - and two dogs - a black lab named Jake and a wire haired dachshund named Max. She and her son received their black belts in 2012. In addition to taekwondo, Miss Jen also spends time running and doing triathlons, including completing the Wisconsin Marathon in 2015 and the Racine Half Iron man in 2014. Miss Jen's incredible attention to detail and commitment to excellence are valued assets to U.S. Taekwondo Academy.

    Instructor Michael Grover Instructor Michael Grover has been a member of the US Taekwondo family since 1992. He originally studied with Grandmaster Koang Woong Kim. During his time with the academy, Master Mike has been an Illinois State Champion, a Wisconsin State Champion, and a National Medalist. Master Mike has also coached several state, national, and international medalists. Currently Mike holds the title of national referee and serves as Director of Athletic Development for the Wisconsin Taekwondo Association.

    Chad Shipley (chads@ustkda.com)
    Instructor Chad was born and raised in Kenosha WI. He graduated from Lakeview Technology Academy in 2007 and from UW-Parkside in 2012 with a Bachelors in Management Information Systems. He came to the US Taekwondo Academy in the fall of 2013 and earned his black belt in the fall of 2015. He has recently tested for his 1st degree black belt. Chad is married to Kelly and they have a son, Keyton.

    Kelly Shipley (kellys@ustkda.com)
    Instructor Kelly was born and raised in Kenosha. She graduated from Indian Trail Academy in 2007 and from Gateway Technical College in 2010. She is also currently working on a degree in Elementary and Special Education. Kelly came to the US Taekwondo Academy in the fall of 2014 and earned her black belt in the fall of 2016. She is currently working on earning her 1st degree black belt. Kelly is married to Chad, and they have a son, Keyton.
